This may become the elite of choice for Rt/N MMs. When combined with Spawning Power (dare I mention the attribute?) skills such as [explosive growth] allow for a nice AoE spike, and [boon of creation] [spirit's gift] help with energy management and healing.
It definitely has potential.

I tried it in AB; it's pretty nice, but could use a lower recharge.

Theres tonnes of necros using it in RA...
[Aura of the Lich][Arcane Echo][Animate Bone Minions] and other skills... they usually have 3 minions before the match starts. Not overpowered but definately annoying.

Would be better if it worked on your NEXT animate spell, so you could select the minion type to be raised.

But then it'd be a pain of having a selection window to pop up and you have to selection from: bone minion, bone fiend, bone horror, shambling horror. Takes long and it makes no major difference, really.

No, no selection window. Cast AotL, then cast an animate spell of your choice. Whichever you cast, AotL raises that minion type.

by "annoying" you mean "annoying to have on your team," right?
these things are totally useless.

Oh, I see. Kinda like an Arcane Echo, except you get X number of minions? That would be kinda cool... Hahaha, Animate Echo. XD

I'm not sure on the point of this skill. It doesn't really take long to raise a minion army and I'm not sure I'd want to waste my elite on this.
I suppose you could beat another MM on the other team to exploiting all the corpses and the +1 to DM is nice I guess... but still. Feels a bit gimmicky to me.

While the Dev Notes made some sense in comparison to Lich I personally don't see the point. It's not like AotL wasn't used and the change was to give it more play, there were AotL mm's all over AB and even FA. Seems very trivial like the [order of undeath] change a few months back and makes me ponder the boredom status at arena-net.
Why put all this effort into drastic changes of skills that are used so frequently, yet ignore the trash thats never used?

Because they're too afraid to touch the Blood Maigc line with anything other than a big nerf stick?
You're right though - AotL saw plenty of play and had its uses. There was no reason to change it for something completely different when there are plenty of other skills that could benefit from such treatment.

too bad i can't cap Order of the Undeath =(, my necro can't get onto a worm... But im not 100% happy with the AoTL change, thought I think its still pretty good. I loved spamming blood of the master and getting energy back from masochism.

Well for a MM, I'd say OoU is still far superior. AotL is only useful when you have no minions and are surrounded by a lot of corpses. Generally, corpses don't appear so rapidly that AotL gives you such a large advantage over other MMs and if they do appear that rapidly, then obviously your party can kill quick enough and live long enough without your minion support.
As for the +1 to DM... well it's nice but you can always use a consumables if it matters that much to you, or just pay Grenth.
Obviously I'm only speaking from a PvE view.

This would be f**king awesome. Almost definitely overpowered in AB/FA/JQ, but f**king awesome. Anet, do a PvP/PvE split and make it so.

I really, really like this skill.
[Blood of the Master][Aura of the Lich][Barbs][Mark of Pain][Rigor Mortis][Air of Superiority][Great Dwarf Weapon][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor]
That bar is slowly becoming my necro's new staple. it compresses, to a degree, Curses nuking and Minion Mastery into one bar. AoS is reliable enough to get the recharge occasionally to get back up to max minions, and it allows me to throw rend on a para, bring an additional para, and then a N/Mo prot/healer. I've always wanted something that could bar compress like this, and it hasn't let me down so far. I've been experimenting with "BUH!" over GDW, but it's not worth it - GDW is too awesome on 2 paras.

If you mean that you also get to rise a minion from the animate spell that you cast, im all for it.

OoU is still the best for humans.
JB is still best for heroes.
